Linda’s appraisal reports are written to the ISA report standards and are compliant with the most current USPAP (Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice) requirements and IRS guidelines.

Important reasons your art needs to be appraised:

  • Insurance—Talk to your insurance agent to learn what your policy covers and what should be appraised to obtain adequate coverage.

  • Insurance claims—For lost or damaged artwork

  • Estates—For inheritance or future planning

  • Property division—Divorce, inheritance, fractional ownership

  • Moving & Storage—Additional coverage to adequately prepare for off-site scenarios

  • Non-Cash Charitable donations—specific IRS guidelines for non-cash artwork donations

  • Establish valuation basis—Bank collateral, collection acquisitions, and liquidation of art assets

An appraisal is a process that estimates the cost, determines the value, and calculates the present worth of an asset.

Your appraisal starts with a complimentary consultation to ascertain the intended use and objective of your appraisal. After this step, the appraisal process can begin.

An onsite inspection is preferable but often electronic images are permissible.

Appraisal conclusions are arrived at through comprehensive research and analysis of the relevant markets appropriate based on your objectives and intended use of the appraisal report.

After the report is completed you will receive a bound version and a pdf electronic version on a flash drive for your records.
